BSA Troop 10 is based in Mesa, Arizona and
is chartered by the Mesa-Buckhorn,
AZ, Lodge No. 2656. The troop is in the Mesa
District and the Grand Canyon Council.
Our goal is to help young boys grow
into responsible young men by providing them with opportunities to
advance, grow, mature, and lead. We are committed to the development
and advancement of Scouts through the rank of Eagle.
Troop meetings take place every Monday night from
7:00 until 8:30 at the Mesa-Buckhorn Elks Lodge (located at 6718 E.
Avalon St., Mesa AZ 85205-9015). No meetings are scheduled on
major holidays. Troop meetings consist of patrol
activities, instruction and practice in scout skills for rank
advancement, games of scout skills and fun, merit badge classes,
preparation for outings and recognition of achievements.
Outings are outside-the-meeting activities that can
be one day, overnight or multi-night. These include hikes, bike
trips, campouts, trips to special sites, canoeing, rock climbing,
etc. Our outings are varied and frequent, usually once a month.
Scouts learn many skills on these trips and enjoy experiences they
will remember forever.
Summer Camp is a very important event in a Scout's
experience as it provides an intense six day program focused on
developing Scout skills and earning merit badges. The summer camp
environment provides Scouts with significant opportunities for
growth in critical areas necessary for healthy youth development.
Troop 10 attends Camp Geronimo.
Community service is an integral part of the Boy
Scout program. Troop 10 Scouts perform community service projects
throughout the year. Assisting with Eagle Scout service
projects are another way that Scouts provide service to the
community.
Patrol Leader Conference meetings are held once a
month from 7:00 to 8:30 PM at Mesa-Buckhorn Elks Lodge. If you are a
Patrol Leader, plan on attending.
Parent Committee meetings are held once a month
from 7:00 to 8:30 PM at Mesa-Buckhorn Elks Lodge. Parents, please
